Salon is a curated platform for collecting original contemporary art in a clear, considered and accessible way. We work with accomplished artists and independent art critics to bring together a carefully selected collection of original artworks.
Every artwork is professionally framed and presented in the same format and at the same price, allowing collectors to focus on the art itself.
Salon is designed for people who want to collect with confidence, curiosity and long-term meaning.
Who is Salon for?
Salon is for curious collectors at different stages of their collecting journey. Some collectors are buying their first original artwork. Others already live with art and want a more focused, thoughtful way to discover new artists or explore new avenues. What Salon collectors tend to share is an interest in art that goes beyond decoration: they want to look closely, learn over time, and build a treasured collection that feels personal and alive.
Is Salon a traditional gallery?
No. Salon is not a traditional gallery, nor is it an open online marketplace.
Traditional galleries typically represent a small group of artists, while online marketplaces allow artists to list their work directly. Salon takes a different approach. We carefully select and acquire original artworks, prepare them in our signature format and bring them together in a collection that encourages discovery and thoughtful collecting.
Our role is to create a clearer pathway between artists and collectors, while preserving artistic value, context and care.
What makes Salon different?
Salon is built around clarity, critical insight and the ongoing pursuit of collecting art.
Every artwork is critically reviewed and acquired by Salon before being offered to collectors. A consistent format and single price make it easier to build a coherent collection, while our exchange model allows that collection to evolve alongside your tastes and discoveries.
We believe collecting should be a rewarding, lifelong pursuit, shaped by curiosity, growing knowledge and personal conviction.

How are artworks selected?
Every artwork presented by Salon goes through a considered selection process.
Artists share their work in review sessions with independent art critics, where the discussion explores the ideas, intentions and artistic development behind each work.
Salon then selects and acquires works for its collection, investing directly in the art before presenting it to collectors.
This process brings critical perspective, thoughtful selection and genuine commitment to every artwork we offer.
Who selects the artworks?
Salon’s selection process brings together artists, independent art critics and Salon.
Artists present their work for critical discussion, receiving constructive perspectives that can help inform their evolving practice. These conversations also contribute to the assessment of works for potential acquisition.
Salon makes the final acquisition decisions, selecting works it believes in and investing directly in them.
The process supports artists in their creative development while giving collectors additional context and confidence in the works they discover.
How do I know the work is good?
There is no single formula for “good” art, and Salon does not ask collectors to outsource their taste. Instead, we create the conditions for more confident looking.
Each artwork has been reviewed and selected with attention to artistic intent, material quality, and resolution. Participating artists are serious practitioners, and works are selected because they hold up within a considered contemporary art context.
From there, your role as a collector remains essential: to notice what holds your attention, what stays with you, and what begins to matter in your own collection.
Are the artworks original?
Yes. Salon presents original artworks, not mass-produced prints or rinse-and-repeat artworks.
Each work is made by the artist and acquired by Salon before being offered to collectors. Artwork details, materials, and artist information are provided so you can understand what you are collecting.
What kind of artists contribute to Salon?
Salon works with serious contemporary artists. The majority of artists are mid career, but some are especially promising emerging artists, or artists with more developed practices who use Salon to explore new directions in their work.
We are interested in artists who show commitment, integrity, and sustained inquiry a critical quality for artists whom collectors invest in. Salon is especially attentive to artists who are constantly exploring and evolving, whose work deserves greater visibility, and whose practice can grow through meaningful collector support.
The Collection & Buying
How does buying work?
Explore the Salon Collection online, discover artists whose work interests you and take the time to find something that resonates.
Every original artwork is presented in our signature format and at the same price, making it easy to compare works on their artistic merits rather than their size or cost.
Once you’ve chosen an artwork, you can purchase it securely through our website. Salon then prepares, professionally frames and carefully packs your work for delivery.
How are new artworks introduced?
Salon introduces new artworks through curated Releases, bringing fresh artistic voices, ideas and discoveries to the collection.
Each Release offers collectors another opportunity to explore the work of contemporary artists, follow the development of practices that interest them and find new possibilities for their own collections.
What happens after I buy an artwork?
After purchase, your artwork is prepared for delivery.
Each work is professionally framed in Salon’s signature frame, carefully packed, and shipped to you from our office in France. You will receive the relevant order and shipping information, and Salon will remain available if you need assistance after delivery.
Format, Framing & Price
Why are all works the same format?
Salon uses a consistent artwork format to make collecting simpler and more coherent.
A shared format allows works by different artists to live together naturally, whether you own one piece or many. It also makes it easier to add, rearrange, exchange, and refine works as your collection develops.
The consistency is not intended to limit the art. It creates a clear structure within which very different artistic voices can be seen and collected.
Can I choose a different frame?
Salon artworks are presented in our signature black floater frame as part of our collecting model.
This creates visual coherence across different artists and artworks, allowing works to sit together naturally as your collection grows. For that reason, alternative framing is not usually offered at the point of purchase. You are welcome to reframe your artwork yourself if you prefer.
Why are all works the same price?
A fixed price removes unnecessary pressure and comparison from the buying process.
Collectors do not have to wonder whether a work is more important because it is larger or more expensive. Instead, the decision can return to the work itself: what resonates with you, and what feels meaningful in your collection.
A fixed price also supports transparency for our collectors and our artists.
What is included in the price?
Each Salon artwork includes the original artwork, Salon’s professional signature frame, and and Artïea authentication tag.
Shipping, duties, taxes, or import charges may vary depending on your location and will be made clear during the buying process where applicable.
How much does a Salon artwork cost?
All Salon artworks are priced at €1,200 including VAT. Each is an original 30 × 30 cm canvas, professionally framed and accompanied by Arteïa authentication. Shipping and any applicable import duties are calculated separately.
Shipping, Returns & Exchanges
Where does Salon ship?
Salon ships to selected regions and countries.
Available shipping destinations will be shown at checkout. If your country is not listed, you can contact Salon to ask whether delivery is possible.
Can I return an artwork?
Salon’s exchange model is designed to help collectors buy with confidence.
If a work is not right for your collection, you may be able to return it within 30 days for credit toward another Salon artwork, subject to the applicable terms. Return shipping costs are the collector’s responsibility.
The purpose of this model is not to encourage casual returns, but to allow your collection to evolve thoughtfully over time.
Can I exchange an artwork later?
Yes. Salon is built around the idea that collections develop.
As your eye changes, your home changes, or your understanding of your collection deepens, you may want to refine what you live with. Salon’s exchange-any-time model is intended to support that process by allowing collectors to move works on and bring new works into their collection over time.
Return shipping costs are the collector’s responsibility.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?
If your artwork arrives damaged, contact Salon as soon as possible with photographs of the packaging and the artwork.
We will review the issue and help resolve it appropriately. Because artworks are unique, the exact solution may depend on the nature of the damage and the availability of the work.
The Art of Good Collecting
Is Salon a good place to start collecting?
Yes. Salon is designed to make the beginning of a collecting journey more accessible without reducing the seriousness of the art.
The format is consistent, the pricing is transparent and every artwork has been carefully selected. Artist profiles and independent critical perspectives offer additional context, helping new collectors develop confidence in their own judgment.
At the same time, Salon is not only for beginners. Experienced collectors may also value the considered selection, opportunities for discovery and flexibility to develop their collections over time.
How should I choose my first artwork?
Start with attention rather than certainty.
Notice which work you keep returning to. Consider what kind of presence you want the artwork to have in your home. Read about the artist, look at the work slowly, and pay attention to whether it continues to hold your interest after the first impression.
Salon gives you structure and context, but collecting remains personal. The goal is not to make a perfect decision. It is to begin looking with curiosity and honestly.
Should I think of Salon artworks as investments?
Salon encourages collectors to think first in terms of meaning, connection, and long-term artistic value.
Some artists’ markets may grow over time, and supporting serious artists early in their careers can become significant. But Salon is not designed around speculation or quick resale. We believe the most rewarding collections are built through attention, curiosity, and commitment — not through flipping.
A good collection and the individual works within it may become financially valuable, but it should first be valuable to the person who lives with it.
Can I resell a Salon artwork later?
Salon is interested in creating a thoughtful resale pathway for collectors within Salon’s ecosystem in the future.
The aim is to allow collectors to refine their collections over time while keeping works within a serious collecting ecosystem.
We also believe artists should benefit from the continued life of their work, including through appropriate resale royalties where applicable.
How do I build my collection?
Salon is designed around the idea that collecting is an ongoing pursuit.
A collection might begin with a single artwork that captures your attention. Over time, new discoveries, developing interests and a growing understanding of the artists you follow can shape the direction of your collection.
Our consistent format makes it easy to bring different works together, rearrange them and explore new combinations. And with the freedom to exchange artworks, your collection can evolve alongside your tastes and interests.
The aim is not simply to accumulate artworks, but to build a collection that becomes increasingly personal and meaningful.
